Come, già un altro tema per WordPress?? Certo! Ecco a voi Fastfood!
Fastfood è un tema semplice e chiaro, le cui caratteristiche sono:
- larghezza fissa : il vostro blog apparirà uguale per tutti, indipendentemente dalla risoluzione del monitor
- due colonne : da riempire con i vostri contenuti, che saranno visibili ed accessibili
- supporto per widgets : aggiungete tutti gli widgets che volete per arricchire il blog
- pronto per la localizzazione : usate altre lingue oltre all’inglese e l’italiano? Fastfod è pronto per essere facilmente tradotto
- fino a 5 aree widgets : sì, avete capito bene! avrete a disposizione fino a 5 aree widget per i vostri contenuti extra

La TB Crew è talmente piena di idee (oltre che di birra, ovviamente) che non fa in tempo a pubblicare un tema per WordPress – Wallow è in arrivo, non temete – che ne è già pronto un altro. Nato da una breve e rumorosa (eravamo 4 amici al bar, come diceva Gino Paoli) sessione di brainstorming, Fastfood nasconde sotto l’aspetto minimale e chiaro parecchie funzionalità che favoriscono la navigazione e la consultazione dei contenuti.
La più evidente è senza dubbio il menu a scomparsa (un’evoluzione della “quickbar” di Wallow), attivato dal passaggio del mouse sulle icone posizionate in basso a sinistra, che contiene molti links rapidi agli articoli, alle categorie , ai commenti e agli strumenti più comuni dell’utente.
A destra del corpo centrale del blog si trova una piccola barra fissa che racchiude tutti pulsanti di navigazione oltre a varie funzionalità relative agli articoli. Tra queste ricordiamo l’anteprima di stampa, che permette di avere velocemente un’idea di come verrà stampato l’articolo o la pagina che state consultando.
Fastfood inoltre mette a disposizione quattro aree per i vostri widgets, una nella classica sidebar e tre nel footer.
Nella sezione Admin -> Aspetto -> Opzioni tema potrete modificare le opzioni di Fastfood per venire incontro alle esigenze del vostro sito
Nella sezione Admin -> Aspetto -> Testata troverete alcune immagini per modificare l’aspetto della testata. Potrete inoltre caricare un’immagine personalizzata che verrà visualizzata al posto di quelle predefinite.
Ah, non dimenticate di cambiare il Gravatar predefinito! Andate sella sezione Admin -> Impostazioni -> Discussione e selezionate “Gravatar predefinito di Fastfood”.
Dal momento che durante lo sviluppo WordPress ha rilasciato la versione 3.0 – che introduce numerose novità – il tema è stato rivisto ed ottimizzato aggiungendo il supporto alle nuove funzionalità messe a disposizione.
Fastfood è stato testato con successo su tutti i principali browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera e Internet Explorer – in ordine di preferenza,nb), con e senza supporto javascript. Per le animazioni è stato utilizzato come al solito l’ottimo framework Mootools, che garantisce leggerezza e semplicità.
Versione 0.16
Con l’ultima versione 0.16 di Fastfood sono state introdotte numerose novità, tra le quali ricordiamo:
- la quickbar ora è modificabile, scegliendo se e quali elementi visualizzare (in Admin -> Aspetto -> Opzioni)
- potrete scegliere se utilizzare il modulo di inserimento dei commenti fluttuante o la classica versione fissa (in Admin -> Aspetto -> Opzioni)
- aggiunta una nuova area widget sotto il menu principale
- il titolo del blog può essere nascosto (in Admin -> Aspetto -> Testata)
- potrete facilmente cambiare lo sfondo tramite l’apposita pagina (in Admin -> Aspetto -> Sfondo)
- risoluzione minima dello schermo ridotta a 960px, per risultare compatibile con i display dei moderni dispositivi portatili, quali iPhone4
- adozione di jQuery al posto di Mootools per le animazioni javascript. Ciò garantisce una maggior compatibilità con i vostri widget preferiti
- miglioramenti per quel che riguarda l’affidabilità, la sicurezza e l’aspetto. Forse non si noterà ma il codice è stato pesantemente modificato!
Elencare tutte le novità, le modifiche e i miglioramenti fatti è quasi impossibile. Fastfood è tutto nuovo!

A couple of days ago a loud “IT’S A MESS!” comes to my ears, it was Jimo, hundreds miles away from me, that was looking at fastfood code. però non riesco a mostrare le pagine nella testata nell’ordine che gli do tramite numero. Continuano ad apparire in ordine alfabetico, se attivo il tema di default tutto va bene. Dove sbaglio?

In effetti il menu compare sempre in ordine alfabetico per un nostro errore. Comunque abbiamo già risolto e nella prossima versione, che verrà probabilmente distribuita entro pochi giorni, il menu farà il suo dovere! 
non sei tu a sbagliare, siamo noi.
Nel frattempo puoi usare la funzione di WordPress per creare menu personalizzati – la trovi in Admin->Aspetto->Menu.
Se invece hai la possibilità di modificare i file del tema, prova questo:
in function.php cerca
(riga 195, credo) e sostituiscila con

My blog look funny after update
uhmm, what do u mean with “funny”? Unfortunately I’ve noticed a little bug in the position of the comment form. It’s not correctly centered when the sidebar is used also in pages/posts.
So just add this at the end of the style.css
.posts_narrow .fixed-respond { margin-left: 35px; }Or simply use the standard comment form ( under theme options ). We also fixed a little bug about the site title. Now you don’t have to delete it, just hide it in the header panel.

3)Ho provato ad inserire un widget hitstats ma va in conflitto col javascript dei menu laterali: mi potete segnalare un contatore compatibile col tema?

1)come dice V.I. se ci fornissi il link al tuo sito sarebbe di grande aiuto per aiutarti
2)”Pronto per la localizzazione” significa che esiste un file che contiene tutte le frasi (in inglese) usate. O quantomeno le frasi usate ma non già presenti nella versione di wordpress utilizzata. Nella directory del tema si trova la cartella “languages” che contiene i file template “fastfood.pot” (per le frasi personalizzate) e “default_extracted.pot” (per le frasi che dovrebbero essere già tradotte da wordpress) che possono essere usati per creare il proprio file di localizzazione (noi forniamo solo l’italiano).
3)come nel punto 1, sarebbe meglio avere il link al tuo sito… Noi non usiamo contatori e quindi non saprei cosa consigliarti come altrenativa. Comunque con una veloce googlelata ho trovato questo http://it.forums.wordpress.com/topic/ancora-a-proposito-di-hitstats.
WP.org has automatically changed fastfood folder name from “Fastfood” to “fastfood” (small caps), I know it’s our fault: we should use only small caps in folders’ name, but when first released, it was accepted.
But now?! Folder’s name has been changed so if you try an automatic update you’ll probably been unable to and get something like “incompatible archive”.
The only way to get rid of it is to delete/rename old theme directory and update again/upload new one (you will have to reactivate ff anyway).

Our themes are released under GPL 2.0 so it’s allowed use and modify them. The only requirement is to keep author credits (“Author:” and “Author URI:” in style.css).
We are going to create a “theme’s mod page”, in which we will add screenshots and link to the best modifications, if you want to partecipate, just report your site url after your mod is complete (there should be some rules as “specify what you’ve change” or something like that

Now paginated comments should be ok. But if you want even a paging navigation plugin, let me say that WP Page Numbers is an old and buggy plugin (last update in 2009!!!). Anyway if you want to use it here’s what you have to do:
1- install and activate the plugin
2- open index.php in your theme folder and find (line 92 -> 100)

Per tornare alla tua richiesta, certo che è possibile inserire un logo! Siamo qua apposta!
Ovviamente la cosa più semplice sarebbe utilizzare un custom header (aumentando il padding-left per impedire che il titolo e la descrizione vi si sovrappongano), ma se preferisci utilizzare un header senza immagine ecco cosa devi fare:
apri header.php e cerca (riga 38)
sostitusci con
Al posto di
[path dell'immagine]scrivi il percorso completo all’immagine che vuoi usareSalva e chiudi. Aggiungi poi alla fine di style.css

putting widget in the sliding menu could be complicated as they could brake it’s layout, so we decidet not to add a widget area there.
Anyway we provide the possibility to build up your own “slide”:
open footer.php with a text editor, find
(line 20), delete it, also delete
(line 25).
Replace
with
save file and close.
Open function.php find
(line 148 -> 157) after add
Remember this area will keep only one widget and could be brake by it’s height, it’s up to you to correctly style it (but we can try to help you out if you need it, just ask
)

as said in an old discussion in our support forum IE6 is old and buggy and, I’m sorry, we won’t do anything about it.
Fastfood doesn’t have the “show summary” option as Shiword (I think we’ll add it in the future release), but you can use the
tag to split a post (words followin the tag won’t be visible in the main page, but only in the post page).
Otherwise you can open index.php with your text editor, find (line 80),
and replace it with
(http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/the_excerpt), doing this will display excerpt (http://codex.wordpress.org/Excerpt), instead of post content.

Volevo sapere come si fa a cambiare i colori del tema. Sono soddisfatta del tema, ho cambiato lo sfondo, e cambierò l’immagine dell’header, ma vorrei un colore un po’ più femminile, non grigio. Su quali files devo operare?
Su i files immagine contenuti nella cartella images e su style.css.
Comunque il mio consiglio è creare un child theme, che è una pratica molto comoda ed ha il vantaggio di consentire l’aggiornamento del tema senza perdere le personalizzazioni (quantomeno la maggior parte). Ti ho inviato via mail un file zip che contiene un esempio. All’interno troverai le principali immagini da modificare, mentre all’interno di style.css ci sono alcune delle “proprietà” principali sulle quali agire per cambiare i colori. Scompattalo nella cartella themes ed attivalo nella pagina di scelta dei temi (come un normalissimo tema)

grazie per i complimenti. Come al solito siamo felici che il nostro lavoro sia apprezzato. Il supporto per mobile è una novità introdotta con l’ultima versione e dovrà essere ancora migliorato, ma se già è difficile ottenere la piena compatibilità con i browser per desktop, prova ad immaginare quanto è complicato farlo per i dispositivi mobili…!!
Per quel che riguarda il supporto per i thumbnails, in realtà c’è ma si nota poco (nella preview degli articoli nel menu a scomparsa e, se non ricordo male, in alcuni widget integrati nel tema). Probabilmente nella prossima versione (a cui stiamo già lavorando) lo sfrutteremo meglio, come già fa l’altro nostro tema Shiword.
Loving this theme! I have an issue though, I would like it to redirect to the www. when someone types in mobiletrackersoftware.net. I’ve changed the WP url and the Site url to http://www.mobiletrackersoftware.net in the general settings but still have the same problem.

Just replace the font size (11px and 12px) with your desired values, save & close
On next release of Fastfood (we’ve already submitted it to WordPress, in a couple of days it’ll be probably published) the font size is adjustable by theme options. Don’t miss it!

First of all, I have been using your theme since I started wordpress late last year. It’s wonderful and great!
However, everything was fine using WP 3.0.5 and your theme version .16 until I upgraded to the newest versions of WP 3.1.2 and theme version .21. I’m getting errors. For example on the Dashboard certain thigns won’t load like Quickpress, plugins. When I try to click on the options to display/hide nothing happens. On certain pages like making the page visible or not, when clicking the edit nothing happens on firefox and on IE there is a script error. I’m suspecting jquery UI but I’m afraid I know nothing about that. Can you help?

our theme has been fully tested with WP 3.1, and everything is ok…
I can see a js error in your site
, maybe you’re using some old plugin not compatible with WP 3.1, or maybe there’s a js conflict. You can disable fastfood js animations in the options page, or you can try disable all plugins and then enable one by one, testing your dashboard and site functionallity to find out the broken one.

Thanks for the reply. I re-setted all my plugins and enabled them one by one. Found the culprit. It was another plugin. It’s using an old jquery.js. Since, I know nothing about javascript I just contacted the author. For now everything works. Thanks for your help. Your Theme is the best!

I just started to use your wordpress theme and really like it. One question though: My homepage is really small and I have no use for the two sliding menues. The one on the left I managed to remove but I haven’t found a way to remove the one on the right. Anyone know what I’m doing wrong?:)

I have found the file but when I open it I don’t see any linenumbers… This is a small problem but I can probably find it anyway. I have no experience of doing something like this. Do I just highlight the lines from 120-250 and press delete?

I found the file in wp-content/themes/fastfood and I assume that is the correct one?
Is it unique for me or could you, (and would you) perhaps send it to me? I have no clue of how to do this and I’m afraid I will destroy it all:( I would be ever so grateful for the help:)

Love your new TwoBeers WordPress theme. Just installed it for my blog. One question: Below the post title is the word “By…”, I assume for the author’s name of the post. But I cannot find where that info should be put prior to publishing. Just looks like a blank and useless line right now.

looks like you have set a blank author name (could that be possible?!). BTW if you don’t want to display the author name and have set it blank, let me know it and I’ll make a child theme for you. If you do want to show author name but, for some strange reason, it isn’t shown, please check your user profile (YOURBLOG/wp-admin/profile.php), and be sure Display name publicly as has something selected.
